Synopsis
One of our intentions is for The InterPlex to develop institutional partnerships to expand our reach, strengthen our contributor network, and increase the visibility of our publications. Aligned media outlets, nonprofits, research organizations, think tanks, podcasts, newsletters, and other knowledge-sharing initiatives are well positioned to help us strengthen our network and reach new audiences. The following templates are designed to facilitate these relationships through focused outreach centered on specific goals, namely republishing partnerships, organizational collaborations, and media appearances. See below three options for outreach to different groups included in our institutional partnership database. Naturally, these templates are meant as models to be adapted and personalized as needed.
1. Republishing partnership
Dear [NAME],
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing on behalf of The InterPlex, an interdisciplinary publication and collaborative community exploring the intersections of science, society, policy, and culture.
I have recently been following [PUBLICATION], particularly your work on [DETAILS]. Given the overlap in our interests and audiences, I wanted to reach out to explore the possibility of a republishing or editorial partnership between our organizations.
The InterPlex publishes long-form interviews, essays, commentaries, and multimedia features that seek to bridge disciplinary boundaries while making complex ideas accessible to broader audiences. We believe selected articles from your publication could resonate strongly with our readership, and likewise that some of our content may be of interest to yours.
Depending on your preferences and editorial policies, possible forms of collaboration could include cross-publication of selected articles, republishing arrangements with full attribution and backlinks, translated versions of existing content, co-publication of original contributions, or other mutually beneficial editorial partnerships. We are particularly interested in partnerships that help important ideas circulate across disciplinary, institutional, cultural, and linguistic boundaries.
If this is of interest, I would be happy to share representative pieces, discuss editorial practices and licensing arrangements, or schedule a brief introductory conversation. You can learn more about The InterPlex, our publishing formats, and our editorial standards here: [LINK]
Thank you for your consideration. I look forward to the possibility of connecting.
Kind regards,
[YOUR NAME]

3. Media appearance outreach
Dear [NAME],
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing on behalf of The InterPlex, an interdisciplinary publication and collaborative community exploring the intersections of science, society, policy, and culture.

We would be interested in discussing the work we do at The InterPlex to shed light on broad questions around interdisciplinary knowledge, science communication, public engagement, evidence-informed policymaking, and the challenges of communicating complexity across disciplinary and cultural boundaries. Potential topics for a contribution or interview could include:
- Why interdisciplinary thinking is increasingly necessary in public discourse
- Lessons learned from interviewing researchers, practitioners, and policymakers across diverse fields
- Communicating uncertainty, complexity, and expertise in an age of information overload
- Emerging intersections between science, society, and policy that deserve greater public attention
Our founder, Daniel Henryk Rasolt, is an experienced science communicator and interviewer who regularly engages with researchers and practitioners from around the world. We believe he would be well positioned to contribute to a thoughtful conversation tailored to your audience. We would be happy to feature your work as well in our own [PODCAST/NEWSLETTER].
